Even more concerning is the revelation that extreme sleep deprivation increases a person’s likelihood of developing type 2 diabetes to about the same extent as being overweight or having a family history of the disease. While this data is alarming enough on its own, I recently stumbled upon an X post which, if accurate, suggests that sleeping for less than nine to 10 hours could be potentially catastrophic for women, but not for men.
