You are rotating your head neck, you are twisting and fighting all the natural curves of your spine. You are getting pins and needles, back pain and neck pain and still at night you are doing it. You want a pillow between the tip of your ear and the tip of your shoulder, one that fills that place you are going to put a pillow between your knees and ankles that will support and stabilize the hip and keep you feeling safer and you are less likely to bring that leg over. Body pillows provide support to prevent you rolling onto your stomach while wedges  can elevate the upper body to encourage side or back sleeping. Restricting sleeping face down can restrict the pressure applied to the chest; this can lead to shallow breathing which may lead to disrupted sleep patterns and decrease the oxygen intake during the night.
