Keep Naps Under Two Hours

Letting your little one nap for too long during the day can lead to more wake-ups overnight (and we don’t want that!). Keep naps under 2 hours to help balance daytime and nighttime sleep. In the first 4 weeks, a 2.5-hour nap is fine as newborns need extra sleep, but after that, shorter naps will help keep their sleep routine on track! If your baby isn’t getting enough feeds during the day, they may wake more overnight to compensate for it. Ensuring they get plenty of milk or solids (depending on age) during waking hours can help encourage longer, more restful nights.
